A six-year-old boy was hit by a motorcycle on Rua do Catavento
Security cameras captured the moment the child suddenly crossed the road
Santa Maria de Jetibá – An accident involving a motorcycle and a six-year-old boy was recorded by security cameras on the morning of Thursday, January 15, 2026, on Rua do Catavento, in the Vila Jetibá neighborhood of the Serrana region of Espírito Santo.
The video shows the child suddenly appearing in front of the motorcycle and being struck by the handlebars.
According to the driver's statement to the Military Police, he was driving along the road when he saw two children: one on a bicycle and the other walking.
The moment the six-year-old boy unexpectedly ran across the street, the motorcyclist had no time to brake.
The motorcyclist immediately came to the boy's aid. He was taken to the Evangelical Hospital of Santa Maria de Jetibá, where he received medical attention and was discharged the same day with no serious injuries.
The driver remained at the scene, cooperated with the authorities, and underwent a breathalyzer test, which came back negative. After the initial procedures, he was released.
