Contexto

A young man suffered serious injuries to his hand after an explosive device accidentally detonated on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 5, in the Cristo del Consuelo sector, near the Puente de la “A” bridge, in southwest Guayaquil.

According to videos circulating on social media and witness reports, the victim was walking across the bridge asking for help, with visible damage to part of his upper limb, burned clothing, and wounds to his torso.

Emergency personnel and police officers arrived at the scene to provide care to the injured man and carry out the necessary procedures.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident, including the origin and purpose of the explosive device.
