Assault on Woman Holding Baby Sparks Outrage in Puerto López

Puerto López, Meta – A case of domestic violence in this municipality in the department of Meta has been captured on video and widely shared on digital platforms since April 16, 2026.

The footage, recorded by a security camera inside a home, shows a man attacking his partner.

The woman, holding her newborn baby, tries to protect the child while being punched, pushed, and having her hair pulled.

The clip shows her taking refuge in a corner of the room, using her body as a shield to prevent the blows from reaching the child.

The woman involved later contacted several media outlets in Meta to request the removal of the video.

She stated that the video had been sent privately to family members to preserve evidence and that she did not authorize its public release.

She added that she continues to live with the child's father and that the incident was an isolated moment of anger that, according to her, will not be repeated.
