A man identified as Luis Antonio “N.” was arrested by Jalisco authorities after being accused of inappropriately touching a minor inside a grocery store in Guadalajara. The case went viral on social media after security cameras captured the incident.

The events occurred on May 7 at a store located in the Santa Elena de la Cruz neighborhood. According to the released images, the man was shopping when a girl entered to buy bread.

The video shows the man letting her go first, and seconds later, he allegedly touches her before quickly leaving the store.

After the incident, the girl began to cry, alerting the woman working at the store. Shortly after, the video began circulating on social media and neighborhood groups, where residents shared the footage to try to identify the perpetrator.

The Jalisco Attorney General's Office reported that the man was located and arrested this Monday inside a rehabilitation center in the Tetlán neighborhood of Guadalajara.

According to authorities, he will be brought before a judge while the investigation into the crime of child sexual abuse proceeds.

The governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, stated that the suspect was apparently hiding in a rehabilitation center when he was located by law enforcement agents.

Municipal authorities also indicated that the girl is already receiving specialized care through Ciudad Niñez (Children's City) and that the corresponding report was filed as soon as the case became public.

The case sparked a strong reaction among social media users, who demanded swift action from the authorities and greater protection measures for children in public spaces.
