Armed Attack in Colinas de la Florida Leaves Two Dead in Guayaquil

Guayaquil, April 7, 2026 – A double homicide was captured by a security camera in the Colinas de la Florida neighborhood, located in northern Guayaquil, near the old 112th Street station.

The incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at approximately 6:38 p.m., according to the timestamp visible in the footage.

The video shows a man standing next to a red vehicle parked on the street. At that moment, a motorcycle with at least two occupants approaches.

Several shots were fired, after which people fell to the ground and others tried to take cover or close their car doors.

The attack lasted only a few seconds and generated immediate panic at the scene.

According to preliminary reports from local media and social media news accounts, the attack left two people dead.

Some posts also mention two people critically injured, although this information has not yet been officially confirmed by authorities.
